Revival is an Expression of God’s Grace

 God is gracious.

“The Lord—the Lord is a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger and abounding in faithful love and truth” (Exodus 34:6)

 God enjoys lavishing grace in abundance because it results in His glory.

“…according to the good pleasure of his will, to the praise of his glorious grace that he lavished on us in the Beloved One.” (Ephesians 1:5-6)

The harvest is ready.

“Listen to what I’m telling you: Open your eyes and look at the fields, because they are ready for harvest.” (John 4:35)

God wants people to be saved.

“…God our Saviour, who wants everyone to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.” (1 Timothy 2:3-4)

“The Lord does not delay his promise, as some understand delay, but is patient with you, not wanting any to perish but all to come to repentance.” (2 Peter 3:9)

“I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that the wicked person should turn from his way and live.” (Ezekiel 33:11)

“I tell you, in the same way, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous people who don’t need repentance.” (Luke 15:7)

God wants people to worship Him.

“But an hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in Spirit and in truth. Yes, the Father wants such people to worship him.” (John 4:23)

God has promised to pour out His Spirit.

“For I will pour water on the thirsty land
and streams on the dry ground;
I will pour out my Spirit on your descendants
and my blessing on your offspring.
They will sprout among the grass
like poplars by flowing streams.
This one will say, ‘I am the Lord’s’;
another will use the name of Jacob;
still another will write on his hand, ‘The Lord’s,’
and take on the name of Israel.” (Isaiah 44:3-5)

“…and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is for you and for your children, and for all who are far off, as many as the Lord our God will call.” (Acts 2:38-39)

He is ready and willing to give His Spirit in response to prayer.

“If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him?” (Luke 11:13)

Therefore, pray perseveringly to a perfect, willing, abundantly good and infinitely gracious Father for an outpouring of His Spirit in a revival, and humbly anticipate more than what you can imagine.

“Now to him who is able to do above and beyond all that we ask or think according to the power that works in us— to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.” (Ephesians 3:20-21)

PSALM 67

May God be gracious to us and bless us;
may he make his face shine upon us Selah
so that your way may be known on earth,
your salvation among all nations.

Let the peoples praise you, God;
let all the peoples praise you.
Let the nations rejoice and shout for joy,
for you judge the peoples with fairness
and lead the nations on earth. Selah
Let the peoples praise you, God,
let all the peoples praise you.

The earth has produced its harvest;
God, our God, blesses us.
God will bless us,
and all the ends of the earth will fear him.
